Alvin Williams Wins the Lake Dardanelle Big Bass Classic!!!!!

Alvin Williams (Hartman, AR.) topped a large field of anglers fishing the Lake Dardanelle Big Bass Classic this weekend by catching the biggest bass of the event, a 6.33 pounder. Turnout for the event exceeded expectations, as 299 anglers fished on Saturday and 208 fished on Sunday.
For his efforts, Alvin will take home a $10,000 check, due in large part to Rush Sporting Goods and the Russellville Advertising and Promotions Board, who sponsored the event. The event was so successful that the dates
for next year's Lake Dardanelle Big Bass Classic have already been set for April 25th and 26th, 2009 - So mark your calendars. This event will get bigger and better for 2009!!! Here's how Alvin and several other anglers

lake area, in a place that has been
very good to him this year. The fish
took a black and blue jig (1/2 oz.).

Alvin Williams Takes Day One Lead at The Lake Dardanelle Big Bass Classic

Alvin Williams Leads Day one with a 6.35 pounder!!!!!
Alvin Williams (Hartman, AR.) took the day one lead at the Lake Dardanelle Big Bass Classic by catching a beautiful 6.35 pound Lake Dardanelle Bass! If Alvin's weight holds up tomorrow, he will take home the $10,000 first place prize thanks to Rush Sporting Goods and the Russellville Advertising and Promotions Board, who sponsored the event. A total of 299 anglers fished on Saturday and a minimum of 170 are expected tomorrow, so this event is far from over. Four cash prizes are awarded hourly from 8:00 AM until 1:00 PM. In addition, the top 3 overall winners after tomorrow's action will also be awarded additional prize money. Don't miss tomorrow's weigh-in, which will begin at 8:00 AM and continue until 1:00 PM. Following the weigh-in, an awards ceremony will be held at 2:00 PM. All the action is happening at the Lake Dardanelle State Park in Russellville, so don't miss

Alvin reported a slow bite because of the cold front, but commented that he caught his fish on a black/blue Jig in shallow water. He said that this particular area has been very good to him so far this year.
David Wood : 12:00 PM Winner - 6.16 pounds - $500.00
David reported catching his lunker on the
lower end of the lake on a Chatterbait
(chartreuse). He said the fish was positioned
in 2 - 3 ft. of water near the grass.

Rex reportedly caught his fish in the mid-lake area on a Regor spinnerbait. His fish was also in shallow vegetation.
